2 June: Conference Day

NEW FRONTIERS: AVIATION MEETS SPACE

The symposium will apply critical thinking and management practices to address the long-term transformation in civil aviation and its stakeholders, reflecting society’s needs for sustainable and next generation air transportation. Shifting boundaries of feasible and value-adding use cases will support a new space economy and its focus on access to space and growing demand for managing this ecosystem from ground to LEO and GEO.

Panel II: New Space Economy (13:00-14:45)

Access to space is turning into a commodity service through technical innovations, privatization and profitable use cases. What used to be public institutions, authorities and decade-long programs, are now becoming corporations and business models, decentralizing launching capabilities in the upstream sector and commercializing the downstream applications within shorter development windows.

If and how can traditional space missions and explorations by mature players in the Space market and hundreds of VC invested start-ups, think tanks and disruptors can co-exist and creating added value for the rapidly changing needs of our society and providing access to space in a geo-political context?

Panel I: Sustainable Aviation (10:15-11:45)

The world is connected in many ways. However, the Aviation System remains the most global, intercultural and value-adding type of transportation, for which demand has been growing over decades. Despite the technical innovations in air transportation, the ecosystem still contributes to the global carbon footprint in one-digit but relevant percentages.

How and by when can this Aviation System and its stakeholders transform the industry to become a sustainable yet safe and still globally connecting mode of transport?

Special Interest Sessions (15:30-16:30)

The conference day will conclude with a series of parallel sessions, providing input presentations on specific topics, delivered by industry experts, leading academics and young entrepreneurs.

Moderated by BAM representatives, the break-outs will take place in Hall 2.0, 2.1 and 3.1, followed by Meet the Expert slots, which allow participants to get in touch with the presenters directly.
